Southbury Animal Control appreciates donations any time of the year! Please drop off donated items at the Animal Control building during regular business hours. There’s also a donation bin outside of the building that can be used if the ACOs are out on a call.
Donations that can be accepted:
Unopened dog and puppy food both dry kibble and canned with preference for Sensitive Stomach or ID Digestive Care foods. (All dog impounds get one of these types upon intake and for several days while here).
Unopened cat and kitten food both dry kibble and canned
Pine pellet litter, regular cat litter and kitten safe litter
Kitten attractant litter/spray/additives
Kitten sized litter pans
Large size pee pads
Cat toys
Dog poop bags
Towels, hand towels and wash cloths
Bleach and other disinfectants such as Simple Green, all Clorox products etc.
Liquid Laundry detergent and dryer sheets
Plastic spray bottles
Heavy duty material slip lead style dog leashes
Donations that CANNOT be accepted:
Opened bags of dry food (dog & cat)
Clothing
Pillows
Online Wish Lists
Donations can also be given through Friends of Southbury Animal Control, a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity committed to helping and supporting Southbury Animal Control. The organization maintains two online wish lists with needs.
